We love to teach!

Evaleen Whelton

Founder of Konfident Kidz

Hi I’m Evaleen. As well as running Konfident Kidz I also love to teach! I’ve studied speech & drama from a young age and hold 2 teaching diplomas from London College of Music. I like to keep busy so as well as this I am also a graduate of the Marketing Institute of Ireland and have a BComm (Hons) from UCC.

I absolutely adore working with kids and young adults. It’s their honesty, enthusiasm and imaginations which make my job so worthwhile. It is my firm belief that every child should be encouraged and praised constantly to develop into happy, healthy & successful adults. I set up Konfident Kidz to give children an opportunity to show off their talents and to give us another reason to encourage & praise them.

Since I started teaching over 20 years ago I love to encourage individuality in my pupils. I encourage them to voice opinions, come up with ideas and always explain how wonderful it is to see their imaginations working. With imagination there is no right or wrong answers.

I’m very lucky to have such a rewarding job and appreciate our pupils for making this so.

Orla Barry

Teacher at Konfident Kidz

Hi, my name is Orla I have been teaching drama and communication with konfident kidz since 2016. Each of my classes are so different because I promote a child lead approach to designing my lesson plans. This has resulted in so many amazing moments of comedy, drama and passion from my students. .

I cover everything from Shakespeare to improvisation to social skills to musical theatre to poetryand so on. The relaxed environment of my classes allows the children to feel safe and comfortable expressing themselves. I think drama is an amazing thing for a child to do, it helps children with public speaking, self expression and creative thinking. But mostly I think every child should do drama because it’s unbelievably FUN.

The children I have met teaching drama are so funny and wonderfully bonkers and have made my days so enjoyable, I hope my students enjoy my classes even nearly as much as I do.
